Kaiya spent all night up...from 10 pm to 4 am to be exact! We still haven't moved Kaiya into Allie's old crib because Allie isn't quite ready to give it up! So we've been sleeping in Allie's big girl room with a pack and play. Difficult.
I ended up going back to the pediatrician's office today to see the lactation consultant. And BOY - am I glad I did! She was amazing and all of her techniques worked like magic. Kaiya proved it right then and there! It's amazing that Allie (Allie even had the tongue tied issues but never had her frenulum clipped) never had any issues nursing problems. But then again, Allie was much larger...and probably had a much larger mouth! The lactation consultant assured me that you could have 7 kids and each kid could potentially need to be "taught" to nurse differently. I wish that hospitals would automatically offer these techniques for mothers who want to nurse, because even though I nursed with Allie, I learned SO much!
I'm proud to say that Kaiya is latching much better and although I'm still in some pain - I think it will slowly go away as she and I have figured out how to do this together!!
So today's picture is another photo of #3 (see yesterday's post)...and I think I'll go and take a nap too since we were both up and need some sleep!
