Day 24 - I officially don't like hospitals

But I am grateful to be here and knowing that my baby is being taken care of...but I sure do hate seeing her in so much pain.

Kaiya's been pretty out of it since we've been here. The fever is really having an effect on her as she is sleeping and dazed the whole time. Her fever spiked early this morning to 102+ and I have never felt so helpless.

They are continuing to run tests and letting the cultures grow out and so far - all tests have come back negative, leading them to believe that this is just a little viral infection, but are still treating it like a bacterial infection and pumping her with antibiotics until we are discharged. Tylenol doesn't seem to be doing much to lower the fever.

This morning, I took a few pictures with my iPhone just to capture some of the pitiful details of this stay...

Baby electrodes....so small and pitiful. At least they put animals on them to make them a little less pitiful...

My lethargic baby...

Her awful IV arm and dry skin...

Another picture of my lethargic, fever stricken kid...so awful...

We're in for at least another night, so I'm preparing myself for another long night.
