I hate newborn belly buttons and those awful black yucky stumps that accompany the babies home. I could totally do without them. Jenny McCarthy calls them "Gary Colemans" in her book and it made me laugh out loud!
Today - half of that black stump fell off leaving a cute little belly button with an even uglier stump...a cut off stump...
Okay - I don't even want to talk about it...much less take a picture of it! I'll wait until it looks normal.
I thought it would be a good idea to break out the grown up camera today and take a few pictures...
This is what I came up with...I was rather pleased!
My intentions were to photograph Kaiya in this image...but I saw Allie's cute little smile and had to quickly capture it!!! Sorry Kaiya...
Big sister kisses are turning out to be a new favorite in our household...both for me and Allie!
My two sweet girls...
Today is Kaiya's two week birthday!!! And to celebrate...we took Kaiya to her two week follow up visit! She did really well - didn't cry at all during her exam. Our pediatrician is AHHHH-MAZING! Allie loves her and now Kaiya is a fan!! We had no crying until we headed to the labs for her PKU test where they had to prick her heel. The last time we were here to do the same for her Bilirubin - Kaiya slept through the whole thing...this time...she didn't quit screaming. Albeit...they had to draw enough blood to perform her PKU tests (20+ tests) and another Bilirubin test...thank God my mom was there and took her into the lab for me! She said they had to literally squeeze her heel to get enough blood out and she thought Kaiya was going to pass out from screaming so much!!! Whew - I think that those tests / vaccines are harder on me than they are on her!!
