Day 156 - Kaiya and a helmet

Today, we headed to a place called Fit Well. This place makes prosthetics and...helmets for babies with dented heads!!

Our physical therapist recommended that we go ahead and pay a visit as Kaiya's head is not getting any less...dented!

The people at Fit Well also agreed that she should go ahead and get measured to submit it to the insurance...and that's exactly what we did. We'll hopefully hear in a few weeks whether or not our insurance believes it's bad enough to be covered.

This is a great poster of exactly what Kaiya has...and what her helmet will look like.

This is the EXACT shape of her head right now so the helmet will be molded to restrict growth on the front right and back left so that she will grow in to the spaces.

Keep your fingers crossed.

Day 152 - Eating more cereal!!

We're staying diligent with the cereal, even though we're not eating it everyday or at every meal. I've found that feeding Kaiya cereal at dinner requires a little more planning than I'm used to. I struggle to make it home in enough time to get dinner on the table...now I have to get Kaiya's dinner ready too?!?! I'll get it....just need to mentally prepare!!

Tonight - I made time to get formula mixed, cereal poured and baby bibbed up before dinner so I managed to snap these two photos!

This photo read to me, "Look Mom!! I can eat cereal like a big girl!"

Then this one read, "But now what am I supposed to do with it?!?!"

Day 150 - Roly Poly

We left Kaiya on her back for just a few minutes and came back into the room only to see her like this!!!

She rolled over!!!! YAY Baby Kaiya!!!! Allie didn't roll over until Day 153 - but who's comparing?!?!

Day 148 - Physical Therapy

Kaiya has resumed physical therapy for her dented head - as I call it!! We're hoping that the therapy will remedy the Torticollis that she has in her neck. Unfortunately, the week of RSV interfered with the regularly scheduled PT visits.

Kaiya was not the fan of being thrust back into exercising that neck out as you can tell! But she is slowly improving, although her head is still measuring...dented!

Day 147 - Sharing Allie's toys!!

Allie has quite an affinity for her stuffed animals! She decided to share with her little sister two of her favorites: Foofa and Mr. Peek!

Kaiya's a pretty lucky little sister to have such a sharing big sister. I wonder how long this will last though!!

Day 144 - Being a big girl

Kaiya is a big girl these days!!! She's holding her own bottle!

One of the big differences between my girls is that Kaiya picked up with drinking a bottle much sooner - which was a goal that I had in the back of my mind. Kaiya had to learn to take a bottle at 2 weeks while Allie struggled at 2 months!!

It truly is amazing to see the differences between Child #1 and Child #2!!!

Day 140 - Loving the exersaucer!!!

This is the exactly the same title of the Day 140 post of Allie's blog!! One of the biggest reasons I wanted to keep this going for Kaiya.

But the RSV week proved that this was a larger task than I could accomplish for Kaiya. So - I have failed to keep a daily blog for my dear second daughter. I have tried to keep most everything else equal - but this is one that I just simply failed at. Having two kids, no support and just being a family of 4 has been much more than I originally anticipated.

I will still post as I have time and to document major milestones.

So here is Kaiya enjoying the same exersaucer as much as her big sister did at the exact same age!!
